My mother was a Gillespie...but we lost family knowledge for many years due to a bitter divorce in 1926. When she learned of family in 1943/44 she began searching and found these state links. We esp. show a Steven Gillespie who married a Betsy Morton. Steven's parents died when small, but we believe he had siblings named Napoleon, Manual, Mark, Sally Minnie...mar. George Minix; Phoebe Sylvia who mar. Cable Savage. Napoleon had children: Silas (killed in Civil War); Harvey; David..mar. Margret Minix; John..mar. Lucy Walker; Marion..mar. Sarah Crabson; Jim..mar. Martha Tucker; Mary mar. Frank Walker; Martha mar. John Foster; Julia Ann mar. Joe Blodgett; Emma mar. Mac Hanes; Rachel mar. Ed Gardner. My mother's father was William Lowery Gillespie b. 1889,Sublette, MO. He was son of John Clinton Gillespie,b. 1862 in Schuyler Co, MO, who was a son of Steven. Besides W.L., there were siblings named Precious P.(1886), Jasper (1891), MishAnn or Michigan (1892)Ambrose (1894), Delpha (1896), Alphia (1897), Sylvia (1899), Goldia (1902), Steven (1904), and Dixie (1907). The family apparently moved to Liberty, MO and TX Co in early 1900's. Wm. L, John Clinton and wife, Deliah Josephine are buried in Liberty and some near Queen City and Greentop,. MO before family moved Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated. I understood John Clinton had half brothers...who chose to spell name Glaspy. Karen Rockwood, Tyler, TX
