He married in Tarboro, NC after the Civil War. From his service records I found that he had been in that area during the war and he must have "fallen n love" with Effie Rouse, because he came back after getting out in Maine. They married abt 1880 and he taught school with her. The only child I have record of is Sylvester Rouse Gillespie b. 19 April 1881.
