I was wondering if you have come up with any info on your William Gillispies, Jr and Sr? My ancestors were in the OPD area very early---Edward Gillespie, born about 1800 in SC, and his wife Susannah; their son Solomon Newton, born in the OPD area about 1833 and my great grandfather, James Edward Gillespie, born about 1863. Edward has been proposed as the son of Joseph and Courtney Gillespie, as have other Gillespies during that time, but none of these families named any of their children Joseph or Courtney. There are plenty of Williams, Julias, Amandas and Elizabeths. Of course, those were all popular names at that time. Anyway, if you have been able to find descendants of your Gillespies, I would like to hear from you. Ladonna Viertel
