I have been unable to find William on thw 1891 or 1901 census so that doesn't help. His 1st wife Louisa was living in Woolwich Kent on the 1901 census with their son but she died soon after. William was not there at the time of the census. I have ordered their marriage certificate so hopefully that will give me his father's name and occupation. I will post the info as soon as I get it. Hi: Is anyone familiar with Rudyard Kipling's relation to the Gillespie's? I believe that our Gillespie name was derived from the name Glasby. Hi, This question is for the people researching the Gillespie name in Washington Co. Pa. Are any of your Gillespie's born in Ireland in the 1800's before immigrating to US? My Gr-Grandfather is Patrick Gillespie born in Ireland about 1840. I think he may have immigrated before 1880. He lived in Cecil, Wash. Co, Pa from at least 1894 and died in 1898. I know there were other Gillespie's in the same area but can't find any connections yet. I've seen postings for Gillespie's in Wash. Co., Pa but never with mention of Ireland.
