In a Court Judgment in Augusta County, Virginia I found this information. Does anyone know who their parents are? March 1792 - William Gillespy vs. George Benson.--Writ, 1790. James Gillespy moved to Kentucky, middle of November 1788, and died about December last. Orator (?) and his brother, Samuel Gillespy, were appointed executors.

I found 1850 census data for Gibson County, IN listing John and Mary. His age reported would have his birth in 1795 in Kentucky .Some where I got his death as 1862 His wife Mary would have been born in 1795 in North Carolina, Children listed were William Logan, Joshua Duncan George E., Mary J.Elizabeth, Lutisha J, and John Banner. They evidently moved to Richland County. I felt there was a diffinite relationship with William Gillaspie and Polly Mc Swain and placed them in my fanily tree, but had no difinite proof.. I am having real difficulty reading at rhe present time. I have cataract surgery scheduled for October for the first eye. I am willing to share information with you after my vision improves.

My ggggrandfather John Banner Gillespie died in Richland Co., IL and was born in KY around 1825 to John Gillespie and Mary Logan. I believe my John Gillespie was born in KY around 1795. Perhaps my John Gillespie is the son of William Gillespie and Polly McSwain. Would like to see if your information matches my history.

I am not sure of the migration pattern (does anyone know how anyone got anywhere?) perhaps by the time I write my book ... "Ruts" (stagecoach wheels leave these) I will have that information. :) However it seems that William b1720 Northern Ireland had a son James b 1761 who lived in VA ... James had a son Mathew b1792 who ventured? into Kentucky ... and they told 2 friends and so on and so on .... I am still stuck on finding Charles W. with son Walter Dewey.
