I have seen mention of the following...does anyone know where the information came from? 10 August 1780 - William and his wife, Mary, sold 320 acres on the North side of Cowpasture River to Aaron Hughes for 10,000 pounds and two tracts of 50 acres each on the South side of Jackson's River to George Stout for 1,000 pounds each.

    2. I found some documents in Pendleton County, South Carolina regarding a William Gillespie who was married to a gal named Mary. These documents state that Mary was born 1740 and died 20 Jul 1822 in Pendleton County, SC. It also says she was the mother of 9 children. Does anyone have any information on this William and Mary? Please keep in mind that in 1826/27, Pendleton was divided into the Anderson & Pickens Districts. Thanks, Gloria

In William's Will he mentions 5 sons: William, Samuel, David, John, and Alexander. He also mentions a daughter named Ruth. John later moved south to Woolwich Kent, England, I beleive that Johns parents were Alexander Gillepsie (b. abt. 1818) and Janet Wyper and that his grandparents were Alexander Gillespie and Janet Brown. if htis fits in with your family at all and you would like more details please let me know.
