William Gillispie married Lavinia Castleberry. He and his family lived there in the Woodruff area. William had several brothers, including a Solomon Gillispie, Jeremiah and possibly, my ggg grandfather Edward Gillispie. This is highly likely since Edward named one of his sons, my gg grandfather, Solomon Newton Gillispie, and his oldest son was named William. My Edward and his family lived in the OPD area in Pickens, Anderson and Oconee Counties. My gg grandfather, Solomon Newton, moved to Georgia late in his life. I have heard of your GreenBerry before and have often wondered if they were related. So, I'm still searching! Thanks for responding. Ladonna

But, Mollie Rose is the person I have been looking for from the start and have just never given up that I must find everything and everyone that I can. Samuel "Harry" Knight Sr., her son, my paternal grandfather, my Daddy Paw, reared me and I heard stories all my days about Mollie Rose. Thank you very much for answering and please e-mail me at cherielynn25@aol.com Cherie Lynn

Lowery. Napoleon was either a brother or a father to Steave. If you have any further data on your Gillespies, please contact me. I'm also interested in descendants of same. I recently read in History of MO, Illustrated, 1888, that a JM Glassby served in the 50th IL, a JM Gillespie also did. An Allen Gillespie was elected commissioner in Sullivan Co, MO in 1845-1851; and a James Gillespie was a general merchant in Adair Township, 15 mi. from Kirksville, 9 mi. north of Brashear in 1880, pg. 371, Adair Co section of above History. He may be the same JM who served in the CW. Anxious to hear any replies. Good hunting! Karen Gross Rockwood, Tyler, TX

My incomplete records state he had 1/2 or step-brothers using the name of Galspie or Glasy, who lived at Novinger, MO as late as 1943. Could we be looking for the same J.C.?
