Looking for information on Judith ASKEW (1812-1890) and Henry GILLESPIE (?) who married 24 Jan 1831 in Burke Co., NC. Their four children were James Henry (1840), Clarissa (1843), Rachel Elizabeth (1844), William (1846), Jesse R. (1850) and Thomas P. (1855). Judith and her children were living in Buncombe Co. in 1850 and were in Madison Co. by 1860. I have never seen Henry Gillespie's name on the census records. Her father's will indicated something had happened to Henry by 1852. She died in Madison Co. in 1890. Hoping to hear from descendants of this family. Patricia Morrow

My g g grandfather was Josiah R. Gillespie, b.9 Feb. 1825 in Bond Co. IL to parents; Josiah R. Gillespie/Hannah Williams. He died 22 Jan 1857 in Nashville, TN as a result of the civil War. He died in San Francisco, California in 1873. His brother Charles came to California after the Mexican War and was president of the San Francisco Committee of Vigilence during the 1850's.
