    3. Hi people, I have just compiled the following list for Robin Thackaberry of Perth, WA. These books are wonderful sources of information concerning prominent families of the middle ages, as the GIFFORDs certainly were. As long as I already had it done, I thought some of the rest of you might find it helpful. If anyone needs more information, e.g. the author's full name, publishing details, etc., please let me know and I'll be happy to look them up for you. Complete Peerage: Gibbs Some Early English Pedigrees: Knorr Some Feudal Lords & Their Seals (MCCCJ): de Walden General & Heraldic Dictionary of the Peerages: John Burke (although I thought that this one had a lot of errors, compared with some of the others, who generally agree with each other) Noble and Gentle Men of England: Shirley Family Origins: Round The Pedigree Register: Sherwood The Peerage of England: Collins Monumental Brasses: Macklin Catalogue of the Heralds' Visitations: Printed for James Taylor Catalogue of Knights: Townsend Pedigree and Progress: Wagner Baronetage of England: Betham Debrett's Illustrated Baronetage, Knightage, and House of Commons Roll of the Battle Abbey (there are several of these extant, all slightly different in content; they list those who were at Hastings with William) Vicissitudes of Families: Burke Dormant, Abeyant, Forfeited, and Extinct Peerages of the British Empire: Burke Pedigrees from the Press of G.
