To David: Referencing William Gifford of Sandwich, Mass. serialized in NEHGR April 1976 pp137 & 138 #46 Gideon Gifford (Gideon 3rd generation, William 2nd and 1st generations) was born 28 Nov. 1719 and died in Dutchess Co., NY, after 6 Apr. 1789. He married in Plymouth, 14 Mar. 1742/43, Lois Jackson, probably the daughter of Joseph and Remembrance (Jackson) Jackson. It is possible that if she survived her husband, she is the Lois Gifford who married 17 Sept. 1758, Paul Lewis (Sandwich Town Records). Information of his will is omitted. ......The birth of only one child of this Gideon Gifford is recorded at Rochester. We have been told that he moved first to CT and later to Beekman's Precinct, Dutchess Co., and that he had at least two unrecorded children. It seems likely that he had more children after leaving Rochester. Children: #110 i. Joseph (5) , b. 17 Mar. 1743/4, "son of Gideon Gifford, Junr. and Loes" (Rochester Vital Records). ii Mary; mar.
