Dave: The source that I have for Capt Gideon Gifford as the father of William is from a book writen from Ms. Crain . She gives her source as anouther book which was completed 100 years ago , in which the author did his own tree , but included several partial trees that he comleted by writing all the Giffords and taking their word on their ancestory .(Less than scientific research) Virginia has this book in her possession , but because of its age , the next time it is opened , it might be the last time . I am not willing to do this at this time , perhas someone in this group has a remake of this book and we won't have to bother it . Also got addresses for Pitts family , they live near you .
