    3. Hi Gordon, Thanks for the information as to the source of the belief that Capt. Gideon Gifford was the father of [William Gifford (b. abt. 1756 in NY - d. August 15, 1846 in Erie Co., PA)]. I look forward to receiving the addresses of the family of W. Pitt Gifford. If you have any further information as to the full name of Ms. Crain (author of book Ginny has in her possession) and the year of publication and the name and location of the publisher, I would appreciate learning it. Did Ginny ever give you the identity of Mary's Aunt Netta? Meanwhile, I have been trying (without success so far) to find out more about Stewart and Davenport Shirk, sons of Charles C. Shirk who were apparently living in Tulsa Oklahoma on May 23, 1911. Incidently, last week I ran across a Susan McMackin Reynolds <SPrimeMD@aol.com> who referred me to you as a source of Gifford-Allison data.
