Dear Nancy, I cannot help you as I am grasping at straws, too. I'm trying to research my husband's family. Why your message is interesting to me is because my husband's father was also adopted and beyond that all is a black hole. His name was Charles Gifford, adopted by, I believe, a Pixley family in California. What is intriguing is that Charles or Giff as he was known was probably born around 1913, which is about the same time as your Arthur and they were both adopted out. Please copy me to whatever you find out. Thankfully yours, Mary Beth Gifford -----Original Message----- From: GEBRUDER@aol.com <GEBRUDER@aol.com> To: GIFFORD-L@rootsweb.com <GIFFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, July 22, 1999 11:51 AM Subject: [GIFFORD-L] Erwin Gifford, Glens Falls, N.Y. > >I am really desperate.
