There is only one record for Robert Gifford -- in Vol. II, p. 1368, Sandwich Quaker Records in Sandwich Meetinghouse. It says, "Robert Gifford m. 1680 Sarah Wing" In Vol. I, p. 43, there is the birth of Christopher Gifford to William Gifford July 1658, but it does not mention the mother's name. This is the only record of the birth of a child to William Gifford that fits the time frame you mentioned. Robert was born in 1656 and thus was probably born in Sandwich. I do not know the name of William Gifford's first wife, Robert's mother, but I would truly like to know it. Do you think this might be in the Sandwich VR you so kindly offered to search? Many thanks William Hinshaw -----Original Message----- From: Sullivan, K.
