Hi all, In researching the Giffords of Erie Co., Pa., we note that an old book in the possession of the descendants of [William Gifford (b. abt. 1756 in NY - d. August 15, 1846 in Erie Co., PA)]. briefly states that there was a adoption of 2 Gifford children that fit somewhere into our Gifford line , by a Benjamin Gifford in NY. I have no more information, but hope this fact may lead to the identity of the Benjamin Gifford and his relationship to the Erie Giffords. Thanks for any help. Best regards, David
