Looking for information re. Edna Blanche Gifford, b. 1890's? Early 1900's? d. early 1930's Was wife of LeRoy Faye Andrews (also known as Ralph Lee Andrews), married 1919, CT. Edna and LeRoy had children Gordon, Earl, Doris, Elwood, Ralph, Marjorie. Problem is this: LeRoy possibly was not divorced when he married Edna. I just went through the copies I have of the decendancy of William Gifford of Sandwich Mass,in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register. The article spans several years, with an entry in most issues of the year, beginning in Jan 1975 and continuing to 1980. I don't have all of the copies into 1980 and that would be the entries where your John might be listed. I wish I could have fund your John. Marita

Hi Gordon, Thanks for your reply. I am trying to start with William Gifford of Sandwich, MA (1615-1687) and work my way forward in time to our William Gifford (abt 1756-August 15, 1846). I have had no real success trying to go backward in time to our William Gifford (abt 1756-Aug. 15, 1846). The New England Historical and Genealogical Register Vol 128 #4 Oct 1974 has a complete decendancy of William Gifford of Sandwich, Mass which continues for several years. I have through Oct 1980, and plan to copy the rest the next time I am in SLC. On Vol 128 #4 Oct 1974 pg 260, lists 19- Jabez Gifford b 7 Feb 1686/7. In the July 1975 issue page 225 #19 Jabez Gifford (William 2, William 1) was born in Falmouth, Mass, 7 Feb 186686/7 and died in Dutches Co Ny, 30 years 1 mon 1761 (Oblong Friends Monthly MeetingRecords. He Married in Jamestown RI, in Nov 1716 Dianna Sheldon, daughter of John Sheldon of Kingstown, RI, born in Kingstown in April 1697, living in 1761 when she appears on a list of the Oblong Friends Monthly Meeting. Children: i Catherine b 15 June 1718 d 1801 ii William b abt 1720 iii Benjamin b abt 1722 Proof yet to be found that he is correctly placed. iv Sarah abt 1730 I have given only brief information. I also have parents for William as Philip Gifford and Mary Turner, however the birth dates I have for them are wrong or they are not William's parents. Do you mean the Jabez that married Abigal Hayes ? If that is the case , I only show 1 child and that is William and he married Nancy Amy Andrews .
