I know there were several Valentine's and a Garrett or two, which only confuses the situation. My ancient grandmother, Amelia, was definitely the child of one Garrett Gibson and Prudence Sumner, and was raised a Quaker. Even when the Friends dismissed her and her new husband(he married her when she was 14)they kept most of the Quaker rules in their home.
