(AP) Amos Gibson, president of the First National bank of Joplin and a former Kansas City banker, was found dead in his room at a hotel in Mexico City, Mex., Friday, according to a dispatch received by the Joplin Glove. According to the dispatch a revolver was clutched in his hnad and there was a bullet wound in his right temple. Directors of the First National bank in a statement announced that a notice would be posted upon the doors of the bank Saturday announcing that because of the death of Gibson, the bank would be closed Saturday and would remain closed "pending action of the comptroller of currency at Washington." A note left by the financier, as quoted in the dispatch; read in part; "I am absolutely worn out. Have never done anything wrong, but am lonesome and tired, so must quit. My bank in Joplin is absoluteley all right in every way. I have more than $85,000 in this hotel. Cashier send $75,000 to C.B. McCluskay, Midwest Reserve Trust company, Kansas City. Send $10,000 to embalm my body, ship me to Kansas City. Wire daughter, Mrs. Wallace Wilson, Joplin. Balance of my money use to pay damage to hotel."
