Author: WFields0223 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.gibson/4713.1.1.2.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In the 1850 Scott Co VA Census. living next door to James & Lexy,and son, Kendrick, are a George Gibson, age 66, and Ruth age 50, with chidren, Phoebe, Workman, Linda, and Olla. In 1860 Scott Co Census are George, age 75, Ruthy, age 50, Phoebe, Wortman, Olley (female), and Hamilton, age 10. Also in the 1860 Census are James, Lexie, with children, Kendrick, Jane, Fayette, and Henry. So, this still does'nt answer who Hamilton's parents are, but he is not living in the James and Lexie household in 1860. Ruth's age in both census remain the same (that has happened many times. I have also seen where as many as 12 years has been added to the real age), and so if she was indeed 50 in 1860, then it is possible that she and George are the parents of Hamilton.
