Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of the Kerrville Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Holland officiating. Interment was in the Harper Cemetery, where Herbert and Ernestine Feller sang "In the Garden" at the gravesite. Gibson was a native of Harper, where he was born on May 22, 1914, the son of Frankie Spence Gibson and Allen Lane Gibson. He married Lola B. Green on July 7, 1936 and she survives. Gibson was a lifelong resident of Harper and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Harper. Surviving, in addition to his wife are four daughters: Bobbie Gibson of Harper; Sharon and Cecil Tatsch of Harper; Starr Lee Davis of Del Rio, and Gay and Clark Colvin of Junction. Also surviving is a sister Doris and Ray Coker of Junction; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Whitewood, Jimmy Peril, Tom Pickens, Ken Whitewood, Archie Lennon and Walter Parker Jr. Honorary pallbearers were: FLoy Bode, J.R. Peril, Rollie Peril, E. Dean Hopf, A.B. Barker, Millard Bennett, Bennie Koerner, Billy Hogan, Milton Gibson, Willard Jordan, Larry Brooks and Elmo Lumpkins. Memorials my be given to the Harper Volunteer Fire Department, the EMS Fund or to the charity of choice.
