    1. [GIBSON] Jesse Gibson and Elizabeth (Parmley) Gibson
    2. Weathers
    3. The Jesse Gibson who married Elizabeth Parmley near Knoxville, Knox County, TN, about 1799, was born about 1777 in Botetourt Co., VA. The only adult Gibson male found in Botetourt Co., VA in 1777 was Henry Gibson who was married to Sarah Caperton. Henry and Sarah may or may not have been the parents of Jesse Gibson.--"VA Tax Papers, 1782-1787, Other than Those Published by the US Census Bureau." By 1800 a Henry Gibson was in Christian County, KY. By 1810 Jesse Gibson and his wife Elizabeth (Parmley) Gibson lived in Ohio, KY, when their daughter Jane was born. Jesse Gibson died in October, 1838, in Livingston Co., KY. His estate papers were filed in Livingston County, KY, on Nov. 5, 1838. Jesse and Elizabeth had ten sons and two daughters. In 1850 Elizabeth (Parmley) Gibson was in Hardeman County, TN. Elizabeth died February 4, 1854, and was buried in the Gibson Cemetery, Hardeman County, TN. The only date on her gravestone is her death date. According to her 1850 Census listing, Elizabeth was born about 1784, in SC. In 1850 Elizabeth resided in the home or her son George Stewart Gibson, who had moved to Hardeman County, TN, in 1826. 3. The Henry Gibson who settled in Christian County Ky is a different one from the Henry and Sarah below (he's from my family) and isnt the father of Jesse Gibson but they could be related I suppose. Jesse Gibson and his family however settled in nearby Livingston County KY and alot of his family moved over to nearby SouthEast Missouri. I live here next door to where Jesse Gibson settled in Western KY. Hope that helps a bit.
