Subject: Gibsons - Pennsylvania Are there any Gibsons out there whose roots go back to John Gibson, Robert Gibson and/or Margaret Gibson Ferguson. All three were born in Scotland; they are brothers and sister of my grandmother, Bethea Gibson Smith. My grandparents emigrated in 1882/83 and I suspect the others came about the same time. All settled in the small mining towns in western Pennsylvania. My grandparents moved on to Lonaconing, MD; Margaret and family lived in Monessen, PA; John and Robert lived in--Roscoe and/or Brownsville. One had a son that had a car agency in Brownsville during the 1930s. I know there are still second and third generations of cousins living in the same areas of Pennsylvania, but I can't make a connection--no one seems interested in family history.
