Perhaps you might find some of your Gibsons in Kentucky and Arkansas, as they migrated . There are lots of Gibsons in the census in the middle and later part of the 1800's. Try Lawrence county .and Jackson county. The Gibson clan are very elusive. I am at quite a disadvantage because my father was orphaned at two, and all his sibling died about the same time, must have been an epidemic.
