It does, however, help eliminate two Gibson families from further consideration in our search. George D. Gibson, mentioned as a purchaser of land in the previous message comes from Pennsylvania and his wife's date of birth (1820) and their date of marriage (1836) is wrong to be the parents of Elisha. Elisha is also not among the list of his living children. A Cyrus. J. Gibson is also mentioned in the work, but can be eliminated by his date of emmigration (1830) to Illinois and by Pennsylvania being his state of birth. A David Gibson (wife Mary) is mentioned as having been involved in the formation of the local Presbyterian church in 1834. Assuming this is the same David Gibson found in the land records, this person is still a possible connection, but no further details regarding his family were included.
