    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Gibson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wAZ.2ACIB/5099.1.1 Message Board Post: I have suspected for a while that this Stephen belongs to your "Scotch Jimmy". Where I was confused originally was where I found the reference to him and his children. It was in an index of court documents that was right next to the Mary A Gibson, daughter of "TE " Gibson. I thought at first they were related, but realized they were just alphabetized. It is confusing because the two families don't live that far apart. My focus is Mary A Gibson, born ~1862 in Iowa. I have surmised that she was a daughter of Tempa E Gibson, sister to Larkin and Walker. I haven't found anything else except guardian ship of Mary was switched from William Jesse to Walker c 1874. In addition, the original guardianship papers list the purchase of T E Gibson's property to Larkin. I now think that was probably the original homestead of Jesse and Mary Sr. I think that T E ended up with it, and eventually was purchased through the court by Larkin. Jesse and Mary had property in Worth/Gentry county, but I believe they actually lived on property right on the border of Harrison/Worth-near where the graveyrd is. I would like to get more information on where they were living in Iowa in the 1862 time period. I think that mother Mary and Tempa were possibly in the same area as Larkin and Francis in Keokuk county, Iowa during the war. Does any of this sound familiar?
