    1. Re: [GIBSON] Indian Gibson family from Charles City, VA
    2. >From the deposition of Robert Willis it would appear that Jane and her brother were born at least prior to 1700 if he knew them both in 172: "25th day of June 1791, who being first duly sworn deposeth and saith; That about seventy years ago (1721) he was well acquainted with Jane Gibson and George Gibson her brother who were dark mulattoes who lived in the County of Charles City and were free people" George Gibson who is found in the Charles City Court Records in mid 1600s seems to have been the ancestor -- or Thomas Gibson and Elizabeth Chavis -- also in early Charles City County Records. I believe they are the parents of Gibby Gibson of Louisa County from the will of Edmund Howell and the cemetery inscriptions in the Sandy Point Cemetery, Charles City County. Which line from Louisa is yours and is the results posted at Gibson DNA project? A 'NPE" is possible as early as late 1600s when Thomas Gibson and Mary Gibson are recorded as having a 'bastard child' in their care; At a vestry hold at ye house of Mr. James Moss in ye behalf of St. Peter’s parish octob’r ye 10, 1695. Our Gibson didn't match anyone in the Gibson DNA project named Gibson or any other surname on FTDNA. The paper trail is accurate so there was a "non-paternity event" or NPE as they call it at FTDNA. I'd like to find a possible person in the 1600's or 1700's that was the biological father for a Gibson in Charles City, New Kent, and areas that became Hanover and Louisa. Any ideas will be welcomed. Thank you. **************Access 350+ FREE radio stations anytime from anywhere on the web. Get the Radio Toolbar! (http://toolbar.aol.com/aolradio/download.html?ncid=emlcntusdown00000003)
