This is the ninth year of searching for my family; I would be enormously grateful for clues or suggestions. I am searching for the birth family of Harry Henry GIBSON: GIBSON, Harry Henry b. about 1885 in Mo. - one source says he was born in Parson Creek (now Meadville) Linn Co. and another says Butler, Bates Co.. I find it most likely that he was born in Linn County as he married Doris Dill who was born 7 Mar 1896 in Enterprise, Linn County. (No marriage certificate located.) Their daughter Elsie May was b. 7 Jan 1910 in Kansas City, Jackson Co. and their son Harry Henry (Jr.) was b. 7 Dec 1911 in KC. Harry Henry GIBSON (Sr.) appears in the KC, Jackson Co., Mo. 1910 census at age 24, listing parents as b. Kentucky and Tennessee. I have never found his family in spite of efforts to research other GIBSON families who might have had a child his age. He was in the 1910-1911 KC Directory as a teamster for Laning-Harris Coal and Grain Co. but in the 1920 census Doris was listed as a widow with the two children. I have found neither a death record nor a burial record for Harry Henry GIBSON, nor is there a record of divorce. Elsie GIBSON did not have children and I am the only child of Harry Henry GIBSON whom I never met. My mother told me my father had native American ancestry. I can't say I've given up on this search but I'm certainly stalled. I issue a plea periodically and hope someone will recognize the family of Harry Henry GIBSON (Sr.). Thank you for reading this.
