J. Preston Gibson in 1905, and was wondering if the book referred to in this thread contained any information about a John Gibson b. 1841, Pickens, SC who moved to Georgia and later to Texas (d. 1918). This seems to be the right area of the US. It is thought that John's father was also John and his father could have been Luke Gibson.
