Mary Elizabeth Votaw and Alexander Gibson are my Great-great-great grandparents. I have located them in the 1850 census in Washington County, Kentucky, listed with 3 children that I had not recently known about and were never mentioned any of my relatives. Alexander and Mary's children: Harriet, James, Samuel, Johnson, George Whitfield, Penic, Elizabeth, Jamison, William. I am descended from George Whitfield Gibson. I have also found a John and Lernsha Votaw also in Washington County in 1850. He was born ca 1788 in Virginia and she was born ca 1805 in Virginia. He might be Mary Elizabeth's father, but Lernsha would be too young so might be a second wife. John and Lernsha had children listed with them: Hezekiah, Amelda, Margaret, Jacob, and May, ages 16 to 6. Hope I helped. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
