Author: JoannePezzu08 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.gibson/5523.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Jeannie It could be, I don't recall what you sent me -- This shows that Jane and George were considered Indians in Charles City County as early as 1700 and George Gibson whose wife was 'Goodwife Gibson' of Charles City may have been Jane's [and George's] ancestors. George Gibson was on Chippoakes Creek as was Thomas Gibson and Elizabeth Chavis, mother of 'Gibson Gibson' -- these people who won their case of Indian ancestry are very likely kinfolks to those Gibson who later went to Louisa County. 1. [GIBSON] Indian Gibson family from Charles City, VA
    2. gen42
    3. Joanne, We descend from the Louisa Co. Va., Gibson's that remained in Virginia. Which George Gibson do you refer to in Jane and George? Our Gibson didn't match anyone in the Gibson DNA project named Gibson or any other surname on FTDNA. The paper trail is accurate so there was a "non-paternity event" or NPE as they call it at FTDNA. I'd like to find a possible person in the 1600's or 1700's that was the biological father for a Gibson in Charles City, New Kent, and areas that became Hanover and Louisa. Any ideas will be welcomed. Thank you.

I'm ed57176, tgibson41, and tomaarongibson -- on different computers I managed to create different accounts -- when my tree is done and made public, I plan to request to retire the ed57176 account and merge all my accounts into one. I started looking into census records for Washington County, IL and have found a few Gibson families, but no Elisha yet. In 1850 he was 18 years old. I wonder if he was still with the family at that point or striking out on his own. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
