Hi I'm trying to locate the son of Jack Bruce Gibson who was born in Bell County, Kentucky Sept 1931. He died in Los Angeles, Ca in 1963. The only things I know are that Jack had been released from the military just prior to his death and that his wife was Japanese. Any help will be appreciated. The story passed on in my family was that she was standing too close to the fireplace and an ember caught her gown on fire. Her whole body burned and she died as a result of her burns a few days later. Her mother, Nancy Ann (Thompson) Gibson, tended her wounds in the hills of Haywood county, North Carolina, until she died. I would appreciate anyone who can shed more light on this story. J. Preston Gibson in 1905, and was wondering if the book referred to in this thread contained any information about a John Gibson b. 1841, Pickens, SC who moved to Georgia and later to Texas (d. 1918). This seems to be the right area of the US. It is thought that John's father was also John and his father could have been Luke Gibson. Mar 1847 d. 5 Mar 1905, he was married 1 Nov 1874 to Cynthia Elvira Justice b. Jun 1854 d. 19 Oct 1914. They had 11 children, one of which, Jasper Newton Gibson b. 2 Aug 1875 d. 6 Jan 1918, was my great grandfather. I have attached a picture of Cynthia (Justice) Gibson, her sister-in-law Mary, and her niece, her brother-in-law, William Harrison Gibson's daughter, Mozella.
