Archibald, James, Jesse, George, Millie, Mary and Catherine were born between 1770-1785 (estimated thru census records). I have not been able to learn who their parents are. They were all born in Virginia, so I surmise that their father may also have been born in Virginia. I do not even know that he was a patriot. Given the birth time frame of his children, I surmise that he was at least 20 yrs of age when his first child was born thus being of age to have served. I had hoped that someone who descends from any of the mentioned Gibsons could, at least piont me in the right direction. Her father was apparently Alexander Gibson, who lived in Edinburgh, Scotland, and married Violet May (maiden surname unknown). Alison had four sisters some or all of which may be living: Nina, Meg, Beverley and Claire. ----- Original Message ----- To: <GIBSON-L@rootsweb.com> I have given up on finding any information for my great uncle Joseph Silas Gibson, born in Bosque County, Texas 1857 and died shortly after being listed as married, but gave no name for her, on the 1880 Census. Precenct 6 (Decatur) Wise County, Texas. His parents were Arthur Bradley and Frances Levenia Smithhart, Gibson family were living at Decatur, Wise County, Texas until about 1887. The father Arthur Bradley died there in 1885 and Frances moved all the family to the Creek Nation, Okemah, Okfuskee County, Indian Territory. If there is anyone who has any information for this family, and especially if there was a wife living after Joseph died or any children and/or grandchildren I would be very grateful if I could have the information. Thank you for reading my post. Armenta...... armenta@brightok.net

Born to John Gibson and Annie (Bell) Gibson. Eldest sibling James [Jimmy] moved to Toronto not sure when, but I am assuming he was born around 1900. Also his sister Annie who moved to Canada [I think initially] but apparently died in Arizona in 1994. The family lost touch and we assumed they were both dead. Would love to hear from any of their children/grandchildren. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hey Anita! I am a direct descendant of James and Mary Finley Gibson. I have been researching our families for a few short years, and I have not found any that fought in the Revolutionary War, but have found some that fought in the Civil War, both sides. Sorry I couldn't help more. I'm looking for information on I. Laffayett Gibson b 1875. Fayett was the son of Jasper Gibson and was raised in Sevier Co., TN. He married Nancy L. Lule(Nannie) in 1894. I believe he has a son Elige(Lige) who married Mammie Allen. I'm wanting to confirm that information and hoping to find if there were any other children. Thank you, Michelle
