    2. Did Arthur's have any children? Specifically a son named Jacob R. Gibson, born 1852? Jacob also had a son named Arthur born in 1888 in Ohio. Jacob married Jane Galloway of and in Ohio in 1884, and have been unable to find Jacob's parents. Jacob is my great grandfather. 1. [GIBSON] ] Arthur Gibson from Joanne
    2. Armenta
    3. Joanne, thank you for your answer. My Arthur Gibson married Francis in Waco McLennan Co TX in 1857 where their first child Joseph Silas was born 1858. They were on the 1860 census in Bosque McLennan County TX where my G-grandfather James (LL) was born 1861. They were on the 1870 Census in Decatur Wise County, TX as Bailey Gipson, but the wife Francis Levenia and all the children are correct. Arthur and his family was again on the Wise County, TX Census for 1880. I will study your website listed below about the Melungeons in hopes of finding "something". I have seen the Knox County Census listing Andrew Gibson but was never able to find anything more for him. I will look at the 1850 Census in hopes that there is others to help in the search and would contact me. I will try going backwards in time for Isaac and Ritty including Major and on to Thomas. Arthur died in Decatur Wise County in 1885 before his family moved into the Territory. I have a picture of him taken in 1883. Thanks for your help. He appears to be the only Andrew in Kentucky in 1830. He was either the son of Isaac and Ritty or Major Gibson -- not sure which but they are from the 'Melungeon' family of Thomas Gibson. 3. Sally, thank you much for your reply to my Arthur Gibson question. I don't find that we are related. There are hundreds of lines with the Gibson name, and all are hard to track. Like you I am reaching through all that seem reasonable. I have searched for about 10 years for the father of my gg-grandfather Arthur Bradley Gibson born about 1830 somewhere in KY. His father Andrew Gibson was born about 1800-1810 I know not where. I have followed every Gibson line hoping it might lead me to Andrew but so far nothing. I do have Arthur Bradley married Francis Leevnia Smithhart in McLennan Co TX. They lived a few years in Bosque and Wise Co's TX before coming into the Indian Territory about 1886 up the Chisholm Trail as far as Marlow, OK and then across to Okfuskee Co from which they all scattered back to the Marlow and Foster OK area to Polk Co AR, TX, NM, WA State, and some stayed in the Okfuskee area. I just keep wishing me luck, and I thank you for the information for your Arthur.
