    3. My Gibsons come from Virginia, Tennessee and SE Kentucky by way of England. I may have a direct line Gibson ancestor born in SC, if I remember correctly, James Thomas Gibson (Married Sarah Roark or Sumner), I think. Oddly enough, my Gibsons, even up to the more recent generations also have hearing problems, from me not being able to hear the phone ring from the next room, to cousins and grandparents wearing hearing aids in both ears, turned up high. I did not continually listen to loud rock music or play music in bars or concerts, but since I have approached and passed the age of 50, I have noticed some hearing loss in myself, in spite of trying to protect my hearing. My great aunt Mollie Gibson Jones once told us that the Eustachian tubes in our ears were uncommonly narrow (?), and that was why we had hearing problems in the family. But the one explanation of neural damage sounds more plausible. I have an uncle that is only eight years older than me, that has bad hearing problems but won't admit it. I wonder if our Gibson lines are connected somehow? Anita B. The family is listed in the 1870 census of Ogle County, IL, 1880 census of Seward County, NE and 1900 census of Montrose County, CO. In 1900 Chelson Gibson was married and living in Colorado, but by 1910 had moved to Michigan. I am researching the family of William Wood Gibson (born 1838) in Grenville County, Ontario, Canada. I would like to compare notes.

    2. Hi: There is a Cason Texas located in Morris County Texas, county seat Daingerfield, Texas. I know that there are Gibsons & Gipsons in the county. I am about 10 miles from it. There is still a post officer there, but the town has dwindled away, many people live there. I am trying to research Albert Wade Gibson, probably born in Fairfield S. C. Have not had any luck in finding parents. Lilma Godsey Pittsburg, Texas

In doing my searching on the Collins and North families I have often wondered on ned and his family as his mother was I believe an aunt of my grandmothers and we used to visit all the time. They lived right in back, up the hill, from Aunt Mary. If anyone knows of Rosa (or as she was called Rosalee) would love to hear from her. Many lovely memories of visiting them and the first time I heard the word "Poke", I didn't know it meant a paper bag.
