    3. Have you checked census records from 1920 and 1930 to see where and with whom he resided? Also, have you contacted prison officials to see if they would release any info? I was searching for info on a relative in Sacramento who was involved in a murder-suicide, so I posted on the Rootsweb Sacramento list and received the information from SKS; maybe you could post to the list of whatever town the prison is in with an approximate date of his death to see if there was any newspaper coverage on the prison fight. If you have or can get a date of death, you could apply for a death certificate which should have his mother's name. Good luck in your search; hope this helps. Michele Gibson Pierson >>My father's name was Robert Philate Gibson and also known as Robert Davis. He was born about 1910. Although they were not married, my mother had my brother and I by him. I was born in 1941. My father robbed banks in Modesto CA and was sent to Folsom prison. He was killed there in a prison fight. >>His mother's name was Ruth. She was born in Oakland, CA in 1885, Dec. 5. She had a brother named Charles. I know the address of the house she was born in but not her last name. I contacted the city of Oakland, Ca. and found no help there. I have searched for years to find info on my father and grandmother to no avail. I also know my father had another son around my age named Robert Verlin or Philate. I sure would welcome suggestions. 1. [GIBSON] GIBSON - Paisley, Scotland
    2. Christopher Michael Wyer
    3. Hi Listers This is my first posting! I am helping my half brother Peter trace his ancestors specifically the GIBSON family. He has very little information about his ancestors except that his father was Andrew Henshaw GIBSON - lived in Dorset and died in Somerset not so long ago. Andrew's father was Captain H.H. GIBSON and was believed to be from Paisley, Scotland. Apparently a GIBSON married a descendant of Joshua Reynolds but at this stage it is not possible to confirm it. Please forgive me for the very lack of information but I do hope someone can guide me to the right direction - perhaps do a look up on the 1901 Census (Scotland) as there was only one on the England and Wales Census 1901 - James Gibson, aged 40, born Paisley. Have a very happy New Year. Thank you for your assistance. Kind regards Christopher WYER

When he entered service he gave Horry County, South Carolina as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Soldier: MAXIE LEVERNE GIBSON Born: Feb. 11, 1931, Caucasian Date of loss: November 20, 1950, KIA When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The Gibson family is one of those missing. When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency. I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family. I was able to track down her nephew through the white pages. I gave it to G. A. LeMaster, of Louisville, KY, on Dec 24, 2006. He is her nephew. He explained that she passed away in the mid-1990s and left all of her belongings to the church. He also said their LeMaster line comes from the Kentucky/Indiana area. It is unclear as to how the Bible was misplaced to begin with. G. A. LaMaster told me the Bible would be given to a family member who is into genealogy. That was fantastic to hear! I'm so thankful to have found the family it belongs to. What a neat Christmas gift that must have been...
