    3. I don't know if this is true for Ancestry, but, for my home county gen web list, they said that they won't make corrections, until after all the work is finished. But, they have added a feature where you can put a little note on the entry for corrections. At least, that's how I understand it. I had questioned about some names and dates mixed up on my relatives. For example, they gave Louisa Meier's name as Louisa Frantz. (No such person there, and they supposedly got that from the tombstone.) Some things in records, however, were just written by the original person doing the recording, the way it sounded to them, or they were just in a hurry and wrote fast, or the writing is just difficult to read. They probably will not want to correct the way the records were originally written, but they might be willling to add a little post it note with the correct information. I am still amazed at finally having someone send me the passenger list with my great-grandfather, Emil Conitz, on it, just yesterday. Last week, I had found his Declaration of Intention at the courthouse which has his ship, date of arrival, port of departure, etc. on it. I put out a query about that and someone very kindly found him right away. I never would have found him, myself! I had been searching for the ship "Adenmal" or "Adermal", as it was written on his document. And Emil Conitz, or just Conitz. No results. But, the person who responded , found him as Emanuel Conitz on the ship Admiral! I am so excited to know this, but just amazed at the change. Come to think of it, the way my grandfather said Emil, sounded a bit like Amuel, sometimes. (He was Emil Jr.) So, adding a German accent to that, no telling how it sounded to the person who was writing down the information. I was able to add a note on one passenger list when I thought I had found my great-grandfather, so that might be possible for you to do. They had a contact e-mail address, which is where I wrote.
