I am seeking immigration records for August Laurenz/Lorenz and his family who immigrated to the United States in 1893 or 1894. I have been told that they arrived through Ellis Island. It is my understanding all those records were destroyed in a fire sometime after 1900. I am hoping to locate the German Port of their departure and the ship they traveled on. I am really interested in learning more about Regina POMMORIN. We know her birth date is March of 1854 and that she was Polish. We also know that she had a son Adolph Pommorin who was born in Ober, East Prussia. He immigrated to the US on Nov 14th, 1898. The ship was the Pretoria from Hamburg, Germany to port of NY. From the ships manifest I learned that his birth date was Feb. 1874. His last residence was Tattein. Ancestry.com has this information but nothing on August Laurenz/Lorenz and family immigration.
