    3. Hi Ursula, your email came in alright, but it looks like that you have problems on 'your' end.. 3. I've been having trouble with my internet for a while, myself, Ursula. You might want to call your ISP or tech support because it could be on their end. Yesterday, my daughter went to our cable company and told them what my computer had been doing. (She had to go return a cable box.) They said that the new company that bought Cox, Sudden Link, has been working on the lines, servers, etc., so the cable has been on and off. Also, they said that my cable modem is really old, so I bought a new one. The first one I had only lasted until a few days after the 1 year warranty was up. In '04, I bought a used cable modem, with the same 1 year warranty. So, I guess mine was about due to go out. They told me to hook up the new modem today, as the cable would be off last night. I'm waiting until my grandson comes home from school, so he can help me! I was sure that I had broken something, but I guess it isn't me after all! The lights on my cable modem would go off; for several days, I got the same messages I had just deleted the day before; and after a short while on the computer (just long enough to read the e-mails and delete the junk), I would get messages that a timeout had occured and it couldn't find the server. So, I would unplug the computer for a while, then it started working again-just long enough to read through and delete junk. Everytime I got started doing anything that would take a little while, off it would go again. The worst thing was losing all the messages in my inbox that I was saving for the past 3 years. (I had deleted the ones I didn't need to save.) All I did was click the little X at the top corner of the page, to close the page, and all my messages disappeared! I've just been sick about that. If the new modem doesn't help, I guess I am going to be forced to call tech support. ( I hate to do that. I want a person right there to show me-and fix it if I don't know what they are talking about! I hate to talk on the phone, especially about something I don't know what I am talking about-or what the other person is saying!) Hope this helps. I just wanted to let you know that it could be your ISP instead of the list, etc. Cecelia in Texas > Hi Ursula, > > your email came in alright, but it looks like that you have problems > on 'your' end.. > Whenever you are not to sure about this, check with the archive: > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/GERMANY-PASSENGER-LISTS/ > > and we had at least a few messages every day... > >> I don't even receive any junk mail! > > ;-)) you might be one of the lucky ones.. > > Have a nice day, > > Wolf > >> Behalf Of Ursula B. 1. [G-P-L] Christina HEITZMAN in 1820-1852 Baltimore Passenger Lists
    2. William Richards
    3. I have attempted to look at the “free” Ancestry.com Immigrant Passenger Lists but have not been able to “register”. The site tells me I’m already “registered” (probably from an earlier attempt to use a “free” offer) but Ancestry.com will not send me the info I need to re-register. Anyway, on the Baltimore Passenger Lists, 1820-1852, shown in the “teaser”, I found Christina Heitzman, b. abt 1816, origin Wittlensweiler, departed Bremen. Her husband, Mathias Heitzman (Heitzmann) was not listed on the little bit I saw. However, when I attempted to get more info on Christina, that’s when I ran into the registering problem mentioned above. I’m hoping someone who has access to Ancestry.com can look up Christina HEITZMAN for me and give me the information that I could not access. If you can find her husband, Mathias, too, that would be a tremendous bonus. I’ve been trying for years, literally, to find that information and this is the closest I’ve come. If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Bill Richards

    3. Bill, I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and looked for a Christina Heitzman and a Mathias Heitzman and found a 1900 census record that shows them living in Port Jarvis, Orange, New York. However, her birth year is listed as 1838, from Wurttemberg. He immigrated in 1852 and she in 1854. Is this the Christina that you are looking for? Am willing to do further research, if you want. Did find a Christina Heitzman, born abt 1816, but haven't been able to connect her with a Mathias. Maybe you could supply a little more information. 3. Hi Bill, I think this is what you need: Microfilm M255_2 pg 1 Ship - Barque Johanna, Master - ?Linder Nensing? or could be Vensing, but looks like an 'N' Aug 6 1838, from Bremen to Baltimore. Last residence for all was Wittlonsweiter. 1- Conrad Heitzman Farmer Destination Hamilton 61 yrs 2- Johann " Weaver " 35 3- Christina " " 22 4- Sophia " " 14 5- Martin " Farmer " 18 6- Anna Maria " 10 I have spent a few minutes trying to locate Mathias on the passenger lists and even the 1850 census where one does turn up in PA as a clockmaker, age would work but wife's name was not Christina. I am wondering if the Martin listed above is not your man, maybe he changed his name. I will be out of town tomorrow but will be happy to check further if you have other information. There is a Mathias Heitzman that ends up in Iowa, but dates don't seem to work. Susan Eppich in northern Indiana, with lots of elusive PA ancestors and a German/TN 2nd g grandfather by name of Heydemann that is especially elusive, hence my interest in your name. ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Richards" <wlrich@adelphia.net> To: <germany-passenger-lists@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2006 6:15 PM Subject: [G-P-L] Christina HEITZMAN in 1820-1852 Baltimore Passenger Lists I have attempted to look at the “free” Ancestry.com Immigrant Passenger Lists but have not been able to “register”. 3. Hi Again, Just checked locality listings at the LDS FH library catalogue for place name listed on ship manifest. Instead of Wittlonsweiter it should be Wittlensweiler. It is in the Wurttemburg area.
