Gail, thanks for your reply. It looks like your HAHNs were further east than mine. Kriftel is about 10 miles southwest of Frankfurt am Main near Hofheim am Taunus. We are told that the Kriftel HAHNs were in the town when it was founded over 1200 years ago (anniversary was in 1994). An historian told me that the they apparently left Kriftel for a period of time during the 30 years war in the early 1600s, but there is no indication as to where they went. Happy Hunting!
