    3. 09-30-06 Hi Everyone, I'm still looking for place of origin for John/Johann Meisinger and his wife to be Anna Gruber but I did find something interesting while looking for new research web sites. I found Answers.com. I typed in Meisinger Bavaria and the last item that was on the page were some names that I was interested in - Meisinger, Guth and Selker. After I clicked on it it wanted to know if I wanted to put it into my Family Tree Maker which I did. One of the persons was a Barbara Meisinger married to a Lawrence Herman with one child Joseph A. Barbara was born 21 May 1816 in Bavaria. Her husband was born 22 Aug 1816. My husband's great grandfather Jo hn/Johann Meisinger was born in 1814. This family settled in Clarion, PA which is where my husband's ancestors settled after first living in Buffalo, NY for 1 year. On the 1880 census they lived down the street from them or close. They were also shoemakers. I am wondering if they could be brother and sister. I haven't found them on a passenger list yet as I do not know when they came to this country. I couldn't find them on Ancestry yet. Their child Joseph was born in Bavaria in 1851 so they must have emmigrated later. Maybe I'll find the Meisinger place of origin yet. Have a good weekend everyone. Beautiful here in Minnesota today. Thanks, Della M. Meisinger I haven't been receiving Saxony Roots lately either.
