I have been on Ancestry for many years. My search of passengers hasn't been productive on line, so cannot recommend it for that. But for Census it's tops. You can search by birth year, by name, by county, by state (if you're game to try) and also different spellings of either surname or given name, or country of origin. For any of you considering subscribing....divide the fee by 12 and you'll see just how much it's costing by comparison to traveling to libraries, copying charges and the parking fees. I am home and can work on genealogy any time of the day. Check the Ancestry web site to see what is offered. The Census searching has improved 100% since I first subscribed. Ruth
