My name is Shelby Jean Morris. I was born 10/12/1938. My father's grandmother was Barbara Newberger & she came to the US with her brother, Gustav. They arrived July 2, 1857 in New York. I cannot find him at all. I find her 5 years later in Indiana; Clark County in Jeffersonville. She is marrying a man, I think, she knew from Germany. His name is George Sauer & according to the US Census that I have looked at, they came from the same area. I believe it is Baden. Some people say it is Baden Baden. On some census, it says Biern or Bayern. I am very glad to be on this list. I hope someone can help me find relatives of my family from over there.
