I am hoping someone can help. LUDWIG LOUIS PREISEL was my g g grandfather from somewhere in Germany. He was born in 1857 and married ELIZABETH NEIHEISEL OR NEUHEUSEL ( birth 1861) in ZELL, Germany on Feb 12, 1882. They immigrated to New York on April 22, 1882 on the ship Braunschweig and settled in Pennsylvania or Ohio. Elizabeth's parents were PETER ( birth Dec. 8, 1816) AND ELIZABETH MARIA FRISCH (birth April 12, 1822). I think they were from Rhineland, Pfaltz, Germany. They were possibly married in 1844 in Waldmohr, Rhineland, Germany. My German geography is not the best, so hope I have these right. I do not know "anything" about Ludwig's family. I have been given tons of information about the Nieheisel by a very nice person. Can anyone help me with this? I do not know where to start. If they were Catholic, it is very likely that the LDS Family History Center can order a microfilm of church record (or maybe other religions as well) which can be invaluable. At any rate they have a wealth of sources if you have not already tried them. It is open to people of all beliefs.....I was able to find an incredible amount of info on film in a very short time...with a lot of work!! Hello, Mary, I think Ludwig and his family have already been researched! Go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp and enter Ludwig Preisel and Germany. The second entry seems to be yours. His parents are given. The dates are a bit off, but I have no doubt they're yours.
