Hi Kajh, My grandfather left Hamburg to South America in December 1897. Do you have any ship manifest transcibers and proof readers that could help me in my search. Heinrich Rieger was born 1872 in Deutsch Kamnitz, Neisse in Prussia. Any help would be great! Hi Evelyn, The transcribers and proofreaders are volunteers who have scans of passenger lists from various immigration ships. They write down all of the names for a particular voyage. For your particular question for Hamburg to South America regarding your ancestor H. RIEGER you can search this database - but to receive the full passenger record they do charge a fee. Please read all terms and conditions. The entry line where it asks for a birth date does not work. Just so you know beforehand. The internet database "Link to your Roots" "DO YOU THINK HAMBURG MIGHT HAVE BEEN YOUR ANCESTORS EMIGRATION PORT" ? http://ltyr.hamburg.de/ & History: Emigration Port Hamburg: http://fhh1.hamburg.de/fhh/internetausstellungen/emigration/englisch/emigration_index.htm Good luck!
