    3. Have been distracted from looking for my ancestors, but have started the search again. They probably lived in Troy when they came to this country. The story has it that my grandfather Oswald Carl Buttig immigrated to the US to start a tannery business. However, a friend who was informed of his intention immigrated early and my grandfather was unsuccessful. I have been told that he made two trips to the US. In my search on New York Passenger list record, I find a Carl Bittig arriving May 29, 1886. I have a death certificate for him: born: April 16, 1856; Died: November 12, 1934, Widower, Wife's Name: Clara Pfister, Name of Father: Karl Buttig, Mother: Christina (Cristina) Richer (Riclier?) Registered #1057. I found them in the 1900 Census in Sand Lake, New York, name spelled: Battig. This listing includes the names of all the children. When I was in the Troy Court House, I found a listing of my grandfather citizenship, dated Februry 12, 1994. Unfortunately, I couldn't find his record: Aliens Declaration of Intention. This record gives: name, current address, mother's & father's name, birth place, occupation, where born, picture and a fingerprint. The Troy Court House records really needs some help to organize the records. I am still searching for the birth place of my grandmother and grandfather in Saxony, the Kingdom State (Sachsen, Kgr), Germany. Any help would be appreciate. Thank you for reading this long winded journal.
