Just a whole lot of work and reading every history book or relevency. Passenger list, Goshenhoppen Registers, cemetery listings of the township that were family cemeteries (that was the big one and led me right to the place). Checking patent/warrant records plus old surveys. Lots and lots of work...plus being willing to pay for some of this items. Can you please explain to me just how you were able to obtain the information re your 5x great-grandfather's homestead in Berks Co, PA for the years 1742-95. I have a 4x great-grandfather Jacob BAKER (possibly BECHER) 1770-1846 whose ancestry/nativity escapes me although I believe he may have been born in PA in 1770. He was of German heritage.
