Hi List - As of this month images of ship manifests came on-line created by the Libraries and Archives of Canada. It is called ~ Passenger Lists Search, 1865-1922 Actually, the search function is not available for individual passengers and their surnames. However, you can enter Quebec or Montreal or any other port in Canada. This will pull up the names of ships. Click on "view image" of a ship or time frame of your choice. You'll view the actual ship manifest. Then you can go page by page to see the actual passengers who were on-board. One interesting note: I pulled up this ship as an example: Ship: ALBANIA Shipping Line: Cunard Steamship Co. Ltd. Departure Port and Date : Southampton, England - 1911-05-02 Arrival Port(s) and Date: Montreal, Que. - [1911-05] Quebec, Que. - 1911-05-16 Ref.: RG 76/ Microfilm: T-4775 Going page by page of the ship manifest, there was one page written as "to U.S.A.". There was one passenger from Germany with a destination of Chicago, IL. Not all passengers intending to come to the U.S. came to U.S. ports directly. Their goal, upon completion of the Ships to Canada database is: Canadian ports of: -Quebec (1865-1921) -Halifax (1881-1922) -Saint John (1900-1912) -North Sydney (1906-1908) -Vancouver (1905-1912) -Victoria (1905 to 1912) URLs: http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/passenger/001045-100.01-e.php or http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/passenger/index-e.html Enjoy!
