Oh yes having the names of family members is very important if you have them. In fact that is how I found this family on the 1870 census I followed the sons name. On the 1900 census they are in San Antonio, Bexar Co. Texas. They are listed with the Chas Mckinnon household, this was his son in law. On this census he is listed with his second wife Caroline and their daughter Lilly. He had several other children 11 total. They were all born in San Antonio Texas. I have birthdates and/or baptism dates for all and death dates for most. The ones who pass in infancy are hard to find. I have found nothing to suggest that he was married prior to 1860 when he married his first wife Wilhelmina. I was told that he traveled to the US with his brother and I unfortunately don't have his brothers name and have not established if there even is a brother. I have only found two sisters. Henrietta Friedrika and Johanna Dorothee.
