    3. Charlotte -- My very best wishes in your search. My great grandmother, Katharina Heisler (or some spelling close to that) is from Germany also, perhaps the same vicinity. Our records (not totally dependable) indicate she was born in Nov 1842 and emigrated in 1867. She was married in Michigan in 1870. On the 1920 census form, she apparently gave a specific place of birth rather than just Germany. It was crossed out and Germany was entered. As closely as I can decipher, she had named Hessen Kassel as her birthplace. That is our only clue. If you find a group such as you are looking for, please let me know and include me. If you find research sources that are helpful, I would appreciate reference to them as well. I have not had time to pursue this with the intensity required; so (at least for the time being) I'll be a listener. Thanks, and good luck, Bill Will B.
