Hello everyone, I wanted to know if anyone knows what a person would typically do once they arrived to the United States? Specifically arriving in Galveston, TX in the mid 1800's. I have sent this question to a historical society in Galveston, TX and have not heard back. Were there rules in place about having a job and knowing a person here already and speaking English?
